LEGISLATION
Enero 1, 2015 – undocumented individuals in California are able to obtain Driver’s Licenses because of SB60, signed into law by Gov. Brown in 2013.
Marzo 4, 2015 – Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to pass Councilmember Gil Cedillo‘s resolution that supports any administrative and legislative action that would contest the Texas Federal District Court ruling suspending the President’s executive action on Immigration (DACA/DAPA). Septiembre 28, 2014 – SB 1159 (D-Lara) signed into California law by Gov. Brown, which allows undocumented individuals to obtain professional licenses.
DACA / DAPA Injunction
On Febrero 16, 2015, a federal district court in Texas has issued an order that temporarily blocks President Obama’s DAPA and “expanded” DACA initiatives from being implemented. This means that people will not be able to apply for DAPA or expanded DACA until the court issues an order that allows the initiatives to go forward. – National Immigration Law Center (<- click to find more information.)
