Earlier this month, the Chinese American Museum honored six individuals at their 20th Annual Historymakers Awards Gala. The gala is committed to honoring “extraordinary individuals who have made a significant impact or contribution towards the advancement of the Chinese American community and beyond.”

Councilmember Gil Cedillo (CD-1) presented the Excellence in Law and Justice Award to our own Labor Center Director, Kent Wong, in honor of his lifetime commitment to advocating for justice for workers and students. Among other achievements, the ceremony highlighted his commitment to public advocacy for worker rights across the country and his role in securing a wage theft settlement for workers at the Chinese Daily News.
