Maisha Kalam is a Communications Specialist at the UCLA Labor Center. Graduating summa cum laude from UCLA, Maisha earned her B.A. in Labor Studies, with a minor in Education Studies. As a first-generation college student from a working class background, her life experiences have informed her interest in advancing social justice. Her undergraduate studies enabled her to develop applied research skills and a thorough understanding of the labor movement. She is passionate about utilizing creative means of communication to advocate for equitable causes. Prior to her current position, she worked extensively with the nonprofit organization Dear Asian Youth to uplift the voices of young Asian changemakers within the UCLA community and beyond it.
