“Farmworker Solidarity: From California to San Quintín” highlights the Red Binacional Campesina’s delegation to the San Quintín Valley in Baja California. Through this publication, David Bacon documents the struggles and organizing efforts of agricultural workers under the H-2A temporary worker program, illustrating how the program creates both economic opportunity and profound vulnerability.
Workers, union leaders, and organizers in San Quintín, along the U.S.-Mexico border, and throughout California share how these labor conditions shape the lives of workers, families, and communities on both sides of the border. Their stories highlight the importance of strengthening cross-border organizing and demonstrate how the Red Binacional Campesina, convened through the UCLA Labor Center, is building long-term, binational solidarity and collective power.
