UCLA Dream Resource Center Hiring Labor Summer Project Coordinator

The UCLA Dream Resource Center is looking to hire a Project Coordinator to lead the UCLA Labor Summer fellowship program. Applications are due on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

About the UCLA Dream Resource Center

The UCLA Dream Resource Center (DRC), a program team of the UCLA Labor Center, empowers undocumented immigrant youth and allies to be at the forefront of social justice movements and achieve equity and justice for workers, families, and communities. The DRC believes that anyone can be a leader and make positive social change in their communities and that everyone deserves the right to learn, be healthy, and pursue their dreams—regardless of their immigration status.

Project Coordinator Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will lead the UCLA Labor Summer Fellowship, an annual program that brings together UCLA students and community organizations who share a vision for worker justice and labor rights. Student participants are matched with a host organization for an 8-week, full-time fellowship to complete projects that strengthen the intersection between the organization’s social justice mission and labor issues.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the program’s implementation, including developing an outreach strategy and tracking benchmarks, building strategic partnerships for the program, developing a media strategy to promote the program, reviewing and selecting participants, budgeting, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in UC Labor Centers’ statewide calls, and oversight of related clerical detail.

The Project Coordinator will also conduct education and outreach to youth activist networks statewide through public speaking and social and traditional media, outreach to funders, and write funding proposals and narrative reports for funders.
