According to Gaspar Rivera Salgado, director of the UCLA Center for Mexican Studies, “Our goal has been to create a space in which workers can exchange experiences and develop strategic planning for workers rights campaigns across borders.” A Canadian representative tried to come, but was denied a visa by U.S. immigration authorities.
